    Department Guidelines:

    1.  Animals shown in Beef Department must be registered in the name of the exhibitor or have a written consent form.
    2. Exhibitors must follow these and all guidelines in General Regulations.
    3. Provisions will be made for light and heavy classes if the number of entries warrants division.
    4. Provisions will be made for showing breeding animals.
    5. Exhibitor ages for Fitting & Showmanship classes (as of January 1 of current year):  Junior 10 years old and under, Intermediate 11 through 13 years, Senior 14 through 21 years.

    2. Exhibitors may enter two animals per class for Sections B & C.

    1.  Refer to Outdoor Department Regulation # 2 regarding animal ownership.  Consent forms must be sent in with entry forms.
    2. Exhibitors are required to provide animals for spectator classes
    3. Exhibitors must follow these and all guidelines in General Regulations.
    4. Exhibitor ages for Fitting & Showmanship classes (as of January 1 of current year): Junior 10 years old and under, Intermediate 11 through 13 years, Senior 14 through 21 years.
    5. Proper dress for exhibitors is white slacks or skirt and white shirt and appropriate footwear. Proper dress will be considered in showmanship

  • Pet Show

    Department Guidelines:

    1. There is NO pre-registration for this event.
    2. The Pet Show will be held Friday evening, on the grounds of the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture.  A special show ring will be in place for the show.
    3. The show will begin at 6:30pm
    4. This is a NON-Premium show so there are no monetary premiums associated with this show.  Only Rosettes will be awarded the winners in each of the categories. 
    5. The judge reserves the right to add or delete categories based on the entries present at the show.

    Rabbit & Cavy Judging at 10:15 am

    Department Guidelines:

    1. Animals shown in Rabbit and Cavy Department must be registered in the name of the exhibitor.
    2. Exhibitors must follow these and all guidelines in General Regulations.
    3. All animals must have a readable tattoo in their left ear at time of entry.
    4. We request that all entrants provide their own carriers, food containers, food, and water containers.  Department chairman have the right to deny premiums to those who fail to comply.
    5. There will be no changes or substitutions unless in the same breed, class, sex, age, and variety.  Only ONE change per exhibitor.
    6. Rabbits and Cavies will be judged Saturday morning beginning at 10:00am. Everyone is invited to watch.
    7. Any animal showing signs of illness or disease will be refused entry.  The decision of the department chairman will be final.
    8. Pet Class will be judged according to the condition of fur, general health, overall balance, and appearance.  Hutch stains, broken teeth, and animal’s ability to pose may be considered to break ties.
    9. Do NOT fill in coop column on the entry blank.
    10. Rabbits and Cavies will be awarded class ribbons 1st through 6th places.  Premiums of $4.00 per entry up to 7 entries per exhibitor.  More entries may be shown, but no premiums will be paid.

    Department Guidelines:

    1.  Animals shown in the Sheep Department must be registered in the name of the exhibitor or have a written consent form.
    2. Exhibitors must follow these and all guidelines in General Regulations.
    3. All animals must be identified by ear tag or tattoo, registration papers will be checked.
    4. Exhibitors will be limited to no more than two entries per class in the breed classes.
    5. Ewes exhibited in a market class may not be exhibited in a breed class.
    6. No Sheep will be permitted in the ring unless properly cleaned and blocked.
    7. Substitutions:  Exhibitors are permitted to make one substitution, one animal for another of the same breed in the same class meeting all other show criteria.
    8. Exhibitor ages for Showmanship classes (as of January 1 of current year):  Junior 10 years old and under, Intermediate 11 through 13 years, Senior 14 through 21 years.

    1. Animals shown in the Swine Department must be registered in the name of the exhibitor or have a written consent form.
    2. Exhibitors must follow these and all guidelines in General Regulations.
    3. Maximum of three (3) market hogs can be shown per exhibitor and not more than two (2) of the three (3) can be shown in the same weight class.  Market hogs will be divided into extra light, light, medium, and heavy weight classes.
    4. Exhibitors will be limited to no more than two entries per class in the breed classes.
    5. Gilts exhibited in a market class may not be exhibited in a breed class.
    6. Exhibitor ages for Showmanship classes (as of January 1 of current year):  Junior 10 years old and under, Intermediate 11 through 13 years, Senior 14 through 21 years.
